Sonya Massey, a 36-year-old Black woman, called 911 because she thought someone might be trying to break into her house. She was scared and wanted help. But when the police came, something went very wrong.
Sean Grayson, who was a 30-year-old deputy sheriff at the time, went to Massey’s house to help. But instead of keeping her safe, he shot her. Sadly, Massey died because of this shooting.

Now Sean Grayson has to go to court. He is accused of killing Ms. Massey. The judges say he is charged with three counts of murder. There are also two other charges against him.
